Slava - File

Nice use of panning, vocal sampling and just a minimalistic beat.

Daily - Kick Some

Just pure clean beats, with heavy bass line and subtle vocal lines.

Bonobo - The Keeper (Banks Remix)

Black Sands by Bonobo came out in 2010 and achieved worldwide success. Si Green aka Bonobo moved from underground producer and started a new take on electronic music.

This album Sands Remixed had lots of musicians and producers interpret this now classic album.

The tune above is one of my favourites but also love the tune below

The bonobo tracks posted earlier last week called Eyes down is also from this album.

Burial

Love the Burial Distant Lights ep.

Burial - Distant Lights

Burial - Distant Lights Kode9 remix

Crystal by OAE

'liquidstep' , 'liquiddub' whatever name you want to call it - but you have to admit the bat on this track is shit hot.

I am not a huge fan of the big trancey synths, but the beat underneath makes it up for me.

Pale - Those Ships

I posted his previous track up: Ghosts and had to post this up as well. I love the vocals, the cool chilled drum line and is great music for getting up on a Monday Morning!

Pale is an 18 year old Dj / Producer from Manchester and I think is an extremely talented guy. Watch this space.

Gantz: Colour House Promo Mix #001

A while ago I posted some records up by my mate Standby:
http://soundcloud.com/standbysound

Standby has now partnered up with some friends of his and starting Colour House Records which is going to be a new Vinyl and Digital Label. Knowing how talented this guy is and some of the other guys involved this is going to be HUGE. The label is going to be releasing and promoting the freshest dubstep, house, Garage and all other underground music.

Gantz who is an incredibly talented artist / Dj etc. has just released a mixtape for the label which has some very very dirty beats and vibes going on.

Now give this a listen and download. This mix is HUGE.

Firstly cast your eye down the tracklist:

Camu - Kikuyu (dub)
Krytikal - Kalinago Dub (dub)
J.Robinson & Gantz - Spontaneous (dub)
Jack Sparrow - Salvation (Tectonic)
Goth-Trad - Alone Warrior (freebie)
Killawatt - Sidewinder (Ipman Remix) (Black Box)
J.Robinson - The Maasai (dub)
Pheral - Untitled (dub)
LAS - Mental Judgement ( Forthcoming Box Clever)
Formless - Simplicity (dub)
Perverse - Charade (Forthcoming TRIBE12)
Jack Sparrow - The Chase (Tectonic)
Unlogik - Kosmos (dub)
Shackleton - International Fires (freebie)
Kode 9 & Spaceape - Abeng (Tectonic)
Grup Ses Beats - Analog Seytan (Biblo’s Inme Indi Remix) (dub)

With artists like Jack Sparrow and Perverse involved you know this mix is going to be big, partner both Gantz's talents and these records you know the mix is going to be full of heavy and interesting beats before even listening to it.

Full of huge bass lines (13:46), perfectly placed breakdowns (18:42) which gives the mix a bit of a lift so isn't too dark, calm moments with deep and dark bass synths used calming the track down (31.11) but then breaks down straight into heavy dubstep - (42.19). Mixing all these elements together along with some huge tracks the mix is sublime and is an indication of what these guys are all about which is incredibly exciting.

You have to give this mix a listen, this is the kinda of dubstep which makes skrillex and his beats look commercial and choreographed to make people think they're listening to 'cool' music. This mix is full of artists who aren't making music for people to feel cool and to create a look to fit in with their underground music phases. This is a mix which is put together for people who appreciate talented musicians, who appreciate music which has some thought process behind and for people who just want to forget about everything and listen to good music.

Huzur - Salma (feat. Arapaima

Venture - Together We Fall / Sunset Silhouette

Minimalist music, with a nice vocal line coming in and out.

RIP Whitney Houston

One of the best voices of our generation. Only 48 years old, who had battled drug addiction for years.

She once said: '"The biggest devil is me. I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy,' how true she was.

Bon Iver - Calgary (Azedia Remix)

Buy it from itunes today - love this beat with the lyric. Really catchy.

Destiny's Child - Survivor [Cedaa Remix]

Experimental remix of Destiny's Child, bit random. Some bits I LOVE and other parts of the track am not too sure. But if definitely an interesting listen.

Silly Little things (Cymatic Remix) by Dub from Atlantis

This is heavier dub then I normally post, but the bass line on this is great.

Mojo - Garden Walls (feat. Farisha)

Beautiful vocal line, with an incredibly subtle bass line.

If you dubstep (which isn't subtle drum kits) the remix below by Creepa is for you.

Wednesday 8 February 2012

Lapalux - Moments (feat. PY)

A bit of strange vocal line, but love it - has elements of Burial and Jamie xx in.

Ooze - Snowflower.

This record has elements of trance in it but think the vocal is hauntingly beautiful and is just the kinda of record I wanted to listen to this morning.

Deep Focus - Don't Wake Up VIP

Beautiful vocal line, with a nice underlying beat - I don't really know what else to add. I love this piece of music for just chilling out. However, I LOVE  the 140 edit to it also see below I think the drum n bass beat added underneath is pure genius.

Owsey & CoMa - Stay With Me

I love this guy Owsey - think he's majorly talented. The vocal and his production skills work perfectly, to create a beautiful chilled out with record perfect for when you just want to sit and listen to something.

Alphabet Pony - Silver

Check out this guys soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/alphabetpony

Loving his stuff at the moment, just really chilled beat with a cool vocal line - love his use of samples as well.

Disclosure - Tenderfly (Remixes)

Right, I have Two remixes of the same song for this lovely Tuesday morning. What are your thoughts? Which one do you prefer?

1. Disclosure - Tenderfly (Mele Remix)
2. Disclosure - Tenderfly (Kidnap Kid Remix)

I think there both quite catchy remixes and probably depends on what mood you're in. But I love the Kidnap Kids!

Is just a happy tune with a catchy beat perfect if you've had Monday Morning Blues.

Project B - Warhawk

Have a listen to this tracks: Project B - Warhawk.
This is busy drum and bass which I love.

My mate produced this, so have a listen and download it! He's a incredibly talented and deserves the support!

Pale - Ghosts

If you like heavy minimalist beats - this is for you. Love the drop-in vocal line as well.

Great Monday morning tune - wakes you up no end!

Wednesday 1 February 2012

Decem - Lost Wings

I always like to post music which is a bit different and is a bit wierd.. and I think this is a bit of both.
I love the vocal even though it's so bizarre and think the beat and the piano line works beautifully together.

Strange Talk - Eskimo Boy (Draper Remix)

A little bit of trance music, and dubstep beats entwined. People call this 'liquidstep' - a bit pretentious but quite like it.

Metronomy - The Look ( TIP's Shook Shook Rework )

Listen to this with a pair of headphones on - the way this has been panned between the two speakers is amazing. Loving this guy check out his soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/twoinchpunch/spotlight
